Grassroots Leadership Action Team

The Action Team is a critical part of Grassroots Leadership's campaign to abolish all for-profit private prisons, jails and detention centers, and to help establish a prison and criminal justice system in the United States that is truly humane and just.

By joining the Action Team, you become an “electronic volunteer” for Grassroots Leadership. When we need help to win one of our local or national campaigns, we'll send you an email asking you to take action: by sending an email to an elected official, by signing an online petition, by making a phone call.

We'll also notify you when Grassroots Leadership is in your area for any kind of event, from a demonstration or press conference to a concert or house party (that's why we need to know the state where you live, along with your email address).
If you give us your mailing as well as your email address, we'll also send you our annual newsletter and very occasional special reports. Plus two or three times a year (no more!) we'll send you a written update about our work, along with a request for funds to help support it.
