Please join us for the next The Hutto Visitation Program orientation on Thursday, November 21, at 6:30 PM. The Hutto Visitation Program was started 3 years ago to send community volunteers to the T. Don Hutto detention center in Taylor, Texas to break the isolation of detention, build advocates for reform of the detention system, and monitor human rights violations in the detention system.
Who should attend: If you are interested in visiting women detained at T. Don Hutto Residential Center. All volunteers are welcome, and we have a particular need for people who speak Spanish.
Why it’s important: Visitors provide support and company for incarcerated women, serve as human rights observers regarding conditions in the facility, and to become advocates of detention reform.
If you will be joining us, please RSVP to Lauren Voyles at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll send you details, including the address, at that time.
