Community Thank You & Appreciation Party

Every day, Grassroots Leadership works to build a movement end our nation’s reliance on criminalization, incarceration, detention and deportation.

This year, we've had some tremendous successes — from the Department of Justice's announcement that it will phase out the use of federal private prisons to helping make Austin the first Fair Chance Hiring City in the South; winning an injunction prohibiting Texas from licensing family detention camps as childcare facilities to the launch of a new Texas Advocates for Justice (TAJ) chapter organizing with formerly incarcerated people here in Austin; from releasing "Indefensible," our first book, to shine the light on the criminalization of migration to the expansion of the Hutto Visitation Program and the ICE Out of Austin campaigns.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of our supporters, advocates and community members. This party is to celebrate all of the hard work of our staff, board, allies, sustainers and donors who make our work possible.
