On day without an immigrant, families torn apart by ICE raids to speak out

Families of those impacted by raids will speak out about their experience and seek an investigation into Austin Police Department’s role in ICE raids

WHEN:  Thursday, February 16; Rally begins at 3:00 p.m., Petition Delivery at City Hall at 4:00 p.m.

WHERE: Rally at J.J. Pickle Federal Building, 300 E 8th St.; Rally at Austin City Hall, 301 W 2nd St.

(AUSTIN, Texas) — In the wake of the immigration raids that terrorized the Austin-area immigrant community last week, families are speaking out on Thursday at the JJ Pickle Federal Building and Austin City Hall. After rallying at the Federal Building, they’ll lead a march to City Hall. Once there, rally speakers will talk about their experiences during last week’s immigration raids and the need for the City of Austin to investigate whether Austin Police played any role in the immigration raids and present the findings to the public.

Speakers at the rally will include:

  • Families of those taken from Austin in ICE raids and those that witnessed raids;
