Join me in welcoming Dianna Williams to our team. She is joining the Grassroots Leadership team as the organizer of the Texas Advocates for Justice (TAJ) chapter in Houston.
Dianna Williams, was born in Cleveland, Texas, and moved to Houston at the age of five. Houston is her home. Dianna grew up in an inner-city neighborhood, Trinity Gardens, and attended public schools in northeast Houston.
Dianna has been a leader in criminal justice advocacy for several years. Beginning in 2013 with the Texas Inmate Families Association (TIFA), where she served as the Houston Chapter Chair, and again in 2016 when she joined Texas Advocates for Justice.
Dianna's goal is to take the Houston chapter of TAJ to the next level by: increasing membership; deepening community involvement; and leading legislative work going into the Texas legislative session that will begin in 2019.
"Fair Chance Hiring is a campaign I am passionate about and I look forward to working on the campaign, as well as others that impact the Black and Brown communities," Dianna said.
Dianna has five grandkids. The oldest will be a freshman at Lamar University in the Fall. She likes walking as exercise and reading.
