Austin, Texas— The following is a statement from Grassroots Leadership’s Communications Director Maria Reza regarding the 2024 presidential election results: 

As the election results become clear, we at Grassroots Leadership reaffirm our commitment to building a world where everyone can live with dignity, safety, and justice. We will continue fighting for a future free from criminalization, detention, and deportation–where resources are directed toward actual care and community resilience, and where racism, hate, and bigotry are things of the past. 

Now more than ever, we invite all those who share these values to join us in building community, power, and a brighter future together. Today, we rest our hearts and bodies, and together tomorrow, we work to dismantle systems of harm while investing in and caring for each other.
